WHAT TO EXPECT

At most of our events, expect a lot of community, families and people from all over our city and from further afield. We feel that light and warmth is for everyone.

Expect to be surprised and delighted by the things you encounter at a Bright Nights event. Our events focus on illuminations, installations and entertainment that has an illuminated element.

Bright Nights events take place in lots of different locations, and mostly in the dark. We tend to programme in the late Autumn and Winter, so it's often pretty chilly too.

We advise to wrap up warm if an event is outside, and check the weather before travelling to an event so you can dress appropriately.

We will always attempt to flag any potential access issues with any of our events in our event descriptions, including content and effects warnings (like strobe lights).

Our events are mostly available for free, but we will highlight where an event is ticketed or charges apply.

WHERE TO STAY

Why not make a weekend of it and explore all that the historic city of Gloucester has to offer. Jump over to Visit Gloucester's website to find out more about the city, its attractions and wonderful places to stay.

ACCESSIBILITY

The city centre of Gloucester is pedestrianised and since the renovation of Kings Square, you can now cross the entire centre step-free. Blue Badge holders can park free of charge for up to 3 hours in all council car parks.

If you need to rest while in the centre, there are numerous benches and seating areas across the city centre. If you need assistance, please look for our helpful volunteers who are often around during our live events wearing hi-vis.

TOILETS

There are public toilets available in Eastgate Shopping Centre and Kings Walk in the city centre, and Gloucester Quays in the Docks. These all provide accessible facilities. Kings Walk's accessibly toilet is a Changing Places facility.

Many attractions, retailers, pubs and restaurants will be open during our events, where you may also find other facilities.
